Orlando pulls out stops for meeting planners
July 26, 2011 | By Sara K. Clarke, Orlando Sentinel - Meeting Professionals International wrapped up its annual World Education Congress in Orlando on Tuesday — the latest in a string of highly desirable conventions that bring with them the potential for lots of future business.
Destinations across the country vie for the privilege of hosting the association, which estimates its planners' buying power at $17 billion a year. They were looking for innovative ideas to engage attendees, and as the host city, Orlando was looking for creative ways to show off its wares.
